Getting your child or baby into modeling is an exciting part of any mom's life. When done right it can be a dream come true, and it can help set-up your child's college fund. But there are a few things to keep in mind, and a few hurdles to overcome. That's why I created this site - to help you save time and hassle when looking for information on baby modeling agencies or contests.

The 'Down Side" of Baby Modeling

The "Down Side"? What are you talking about Anita?

Yes, there is one - just like with everything else in life. But don't panic - if you're ware of the pitfalls that baby modeling can bring to you and your baby, you will be able to emerge victorious at the other end.

So the first thing you should be aware of is something I touched on in my previous posts - the unpredictable schedules this business can throw at you.

It's not enough to have your evenings and week-ends free. You'll need to sometimes jump at a moment's notices. Or go out of town for a day or two. And you'll have to take your little one with you of course - LOL.

So since you can't avoid these disruptions, have a POA (plan of action) for these unforeseen situations. And if you really like a set routine for you and your baby, then perhaps baby modeling isn't for you.

The second thing to be aware of is actually common in the modeling business in general - not just modeling for babies. For this one you have to have 'thick skin' - in other words, there WILL be times when you and your baby will have to face rejection - there's just no way around that.

There's such vast variety of project that each will need a different type of child, different personality, ethnicity and so on, that you can't possibly be a good fit for all. And that's exactly the way you should look at it - don't take it personally.

And finally, if you think you've seen tantrums from your little angel before - prepare yourself with extra patience. You will inevitably have more of those. It's just the erratic schedule sometimes. Or the sea of strange faces and scary noises... Or even all the other 'small people', i.e. other baby models.

The bottom line is that with a little preparation, anticipation, and patience - baby modelling can turn out to be a very good money earner and a priceless chance to bond with your child. I know I've certainly become even closer to my little man, because of all the modeling assignments...

To your baby's modeling success,
