Now, as promised, here are the rest of the series...
DON'T spend money on professional photos unless you already have chosen the best baby modeling agency for your baby.
Why? Because - you're just going to spend money on something that is not yet 100% definite. Wait until things are signed off and then you'll know exactly what and how you need to do.
If you go ahead and do your baby modeling photos first, and you get them wrong, all that money is wasted. Be patient.
DO join open casting calls.
There are a lot of FREE casting calls posted on the internet, so do look out for them and join. Of course make sure you check out the details first. Beware of scam baby modeling agencies - these can really catch you out.
Although as long as you commit to not putting up any money upfront (no matter how convincing they are) you should be safe. Just do your research.
Why should you attend even some open casting calls?
Simple, a lot of baby modeling agencies attend casting calls and scout for possible talents there - hence your chances of your baby getting booked for a modeling shoot are even greater.
Here are some reputable sites that post free casting calls:
- FreeCastingcall.com - One of the most popular free casting calls/auditions website in the world.
- ActorSyp.com - Great site where you can get information about auditions and casting calls for movies, TV, theater, commercials, etc...
- StarzCasting.com - Nationwide casting calls for hit TV Shows and large budget Feature Films.
DON'T push your baby into doing something that she clearly doesn’t want to do.
Know and understand your child's disposition, i.e. does she have a sunny disposition or does she sulk a lot? Babies' tempers can change many times in a day, so it is important for the baby modeling agencies that they hire babies who are easy to work with.
Remember, every minute costs these agencies a boatload of money - they don't want to have to deal with tantrums too often.
OK, this is what I can think of for now. I hope you find it useful.
To your baby's modeling success,
Anita Mayers
