It is very important to start out right to increase your baby’s chances of succeeding in the baby modeling industry.
Here’s my simple checklist:

Asking other agencies won’t hurt; you might end up with the best one from referrals from other baby modeling agencies.
- Verify if the agency has a roster of good projects lined up for their talents because chances are, your baby would land a good project soon.
- Read and re-read the contract. Baby modeling agencies are upfront with the commission charges once your baby lands a project. There’s no hard and fast rule with regard to how much you should be getting. If you think you’re getting a fair share for each project, go ahead and sign the contract.
- Reputable agencies require a portfolio of your baby. HOWEVER, it's not a must for you to submit professional photos during casting calls.
- Join different baby modeling contests. Chances are a good agency will spot your child and consequently give you a call for casting.
- Local magazines hold baby photo contest. Try to join because that’s a good way to establish connections with reputable photographers who have connections with good modeling baby agencies.
