As its name suggests, a modeling agency is an institution that provides aspiring modeling talents with the right modeling gigs. Without them, one may not be able to find a steady modeling stint—even if the talent involved is more than attractive enough.
Before you start signing up for a particular modeling agency, make sure that you have covered the following factors:
Reputation
Modeling for babies is not an easy feat. As such, you should get a modeling agency that is credible enough to land you on decent modeling gigs for your baby. Take time to research on the backgrounds of the agencies you have in mind. You could also ask around for inside stories about them.
Rates
Talents starting in modeling for babies may really be offered regular rates that are a lot lower than those that are considered veterans in the job. To ensure that you are being offered the right modeling rate, compare notes with other parents. You can simply log on to forums focusing on baby modeling. You could also do the canvassing yourself by asking for the standard rates of various modeling agencies.
Offers
Never stay in a modeling agency that does not provide your child with enough stints. You can easily part ways with them by reviewing the contract that you have signed. In this light, you should thoroughly read and understand the terms of the modeling contract you would sign.

The 'Down Side" of Baby Modeling

Yes, there is one - just like with everything else in life. But don't panic - if you're ware of the pitfalls that baby modeling can bring to you and your baby, you will be able to emerge victorious at the other end.
So the first thing you should be aware of is something I touched on in my previous posts - the unpredictable schedules this business can throw at you.
It's not enough to have your evenings and week-ends free. You'll need to sometimes jump at a moment's notices. Or go out of town for a day or two. And you'll have to take your little one with you of course - LOL.
So since you can't avoid these disruptions, have a POA (plan of action) for these unforeseen situations. And if you really like a set routine for you and your baby, then perhaps baby modeling isn't for you.

Baby Modeling - the Ultimate DOs and DON'Ts List Part 2
In my previous post I gave you the first (of a few) DO in baby modeling that I wanted to share with you from my personal experience with the process.
Now, as promised, here are the rest of the series...
Why? Because - you're just going to spend money on something that is not yet 100% definite. Wait until things are signed off and then you'll know exactly what and how you need to do.
If you go ahead and do your baby modeling photos first, and you get them wrong, all that money is wasted. Be patient.

DON'T spend money on professional photos unless you already have chosen the best baby modeling agency for your baby.
